Activision Guitar Hero wants to resurrect

Caused a stir a few months ago, Activision's decision to close the Guitar Hero series. A painful decision, taken after the flop of Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock and DJ Hero 2, titles that have struggled to sell well, absurd, if we think Guitar Hero 3, in 2007, has sold 1.4 million copies at launch.

The market is saturated, Rock Band 3 also brought poor performance (so much so that Harmonix was downloaded from Viacom), these are the words of Bobby Kotick, Activision's CEO.

This indeed is true, the market for video games is in decline, after the fall of Guitar Hero, UbiSoft has presented RockSmith, but the new fashion is represented by games such as dance and Dance Just Dance Central.

Bobby Kotick, however, does not intend to give up and in an interview with Forbes declares that the Guitar Hero series will soon return to life. Activision originally bet too much on Guitar Hero, when the series started to Miss shots, DJ Hero is born, a title that has not been very successful, the birth of this title, however, has led the company to Guitar Hero.

Result? Guitar Hero had become a mediocre game and absolutely, while Activision DJ Hero trying to push, a title which, according to the same Kotick "had a potential sales too limited", a series of factors that have influenced negatively the brand.

The Guitar Hero series, however, we do not know when he will return and we don't know where (U, perhaps on Wii?), but will return. Activision is ready to dust off the brand, the development team is already in the studio to give birth to new ideas, the series is renewed completely, to the delight of those who could not longer enjoy the usual gameplay.
