Enslaved: Odyssey to The West won the award for best original IP to Develop Award. For this, Namco Bandai he is persuaded to seek new solutions to give the saga, as explained by the publisher Lee Kirton, a better chance.
"Initially the sales weren't great, but in the long term have become really good," he revealed. "Now our aim will be to explore new horizons for the franchise".
"Yes, sales proved better in the long run," he continued. "But are still lower than our expectations, yet we understood why it went well and with a new episode will renew our marketing operations. However, it is a great game with excellent graphics and the inevitable British talent behind. Now, we're trying to figure out what would be best for the franchise. As a developer and publisher of this industry we have learned a lot and, Yes, there were some things that we could manage differently with the first chapter ".
Continuing: "at the end what we did was put a lot of love into something I respect enormously. We have built a great deal of awareness around the title, we have created a chain of Word of mouth, we got excellent reviews, we attracted national press and media, and the game has been awarded several awards ". And then what might have gone wrong in the title? "The demo, perhaps indeed not showed the true quality of the game".
Overall however it says satisfied with the game: "it was a demonstration of how to use intelligently the motion-capture in an interactive world. A cool story, a unique soundtrack, great charisma of characters and a simple but addictive gameplay, all accompanied by a visually stimulating. Is a story that deserves to be lived, and sometimes I am to see the copies on the shelf at a low price ".
Despite the poor commercial performance Namco-Bandai will continue to focus on this new brand.
